Hi, I’m Debbie Lam.
I am Debbie Lam, a naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist with a keen interest in atopy (hyper allergic conditions) and skin conditions including eczema and acne. This is because I’ve had to manage my own allergies and I deeply sympathise and empathise with others who also have to.
I am intrigued by the connection between mental and physical health and I enjoy the process of listening to, and working, with my clients.
I am enthusiastic about food (particularly the eating part) and I love providing healthy meal suggestions. I believe that better health can be achieved through awareness, empowerment and small practical steps.
I hold Advanced Diplomas in Naturopathy, Nutritional Medicine and Western Herbal Medicine from the Australasian College of Natural Therapies (ACNT) and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Sydney.
I am a committee member of my professional association the Australian Naturopathic Practitioners Association (ANPA). https://anpa.asn.au/committee/
As a committee member I feel I am supporting my fellow naturopaths, particularly the students, and keeping ahead of events that affect naturopaths and other complementary health practitioners.
I lived in South East Asia for nearly ten years and I experienced long distance running, dragon boat racing and scuba diving, mainly to work off the amazing South East Asian cuisine!
Before my expat life, I worked in Australian public and private sectors, so I feel I understand the pressures of working in both worlds.
